Prosthodontics, is an area of dentistry that concentrates on the aesthetic restoration and replacement of teeth to their proper form and function. Certain services and complex cases are beyond the scope of general dentistry. For example full mouth rehabilitations requiring implants, dentures, or all on 4 are best performed by a trained prosthodontist. Prosthodontists also specialize in removable denture prostheses. Becoming a prosthodontist requires three additional years of intense training to specialize in complex case management and treatment requiring complete reconstruction or replacement of multiple missing teeth with or with out implants.
